The Department of Public Works continues work on the over-excavated stormwater retention areas on Tennyson. Crews anticipate completing excavation on Wednesday and begin installing vertical fresh drains on Thursday. The excavated areas will then be filled with a combination of stone, gravel, and engineered soils to allow for greater stormwater infiltration. This work will continue to into the following week. This work is being funded through grants from the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewage District as well as the Fund for Lake Michigan.
Due to a few rain days, the paving contractor is now scheduled to begin work the week of September 16, subject to weather. The paving contractor anticipates the work to last approximately 3 weeks. Crews will also begin full landscape restoration around the same time in September throughout the construction area.
